Meet Anna

Registered Osteopath and Chronic Pain Professional

I'm Anna, I am an osteopath and have a passion for helping women who are in pain. I qualified as an osteopath in 2012 and prior to that I was an occupational therapist.

Throughout my time working in both hospitals and private practice, I have encountered a significant amount of people in pain. I also understand what it is like to have pain that won't go away. Early in my first pregnancy I experienced pelvic pain that persisted until my son was three. It was my journey to recovery that made me want to understand why we get persistent pain and what we can do about it.

As a part of this journey I have completed training with SIRPA (Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners' Association), Noigroup and knowpain. These along with my skills from osteopathy and occupational therapy provide me with a unique set of skills that will allow me to pick the most appropriate tools for each individual. I consider the whole person and take into account different factors such as stress levels, lifestyle, sleep. movement and medical history, all of which have been proven to affect chronic pain.

I am a registered with the General Osteopathic Council and both a member and insured by the Institute of Osteopathy. I am also SIRPA trained and I belong to the British Pain Association. I also volunteer for the charity Pain Concern

When I am not working I am a busy mum with two lively young boys. When I have the time you can find me dabbling in various crafts or gardening!

Why Women's Health?

When I was pregnant with my first child I had pelvic girdle pain (PGP) which persisted until my son was three. My journey to recovery made me realise how little help and evidence based support there is for pelvic pain both pre and post natal. It took a great deal of unpicking, even with my professional background, and I want to share this with you. I have an interest in chronic pain in all areas of women's health including PGP, pain in pregnancy, postpartum pain but also chronic pain conditions unrelated to pregnancy.
